  • Stuffed Pepper

    Half a roasted red pepper filed with savoury rice, served with a rich tomato sauce.
  • Cheesy Nachos

    Crisp tortilla chips topped with melted cheese, served with salsa and sour cream and chive dips.

About Us

The Newton Grange is situated 2 miles from the picturesque city of Durham, with views overlooking the valley of Sunderland from our patio and beer garden. Enclosed in the patio area is ideal for those of you who have small children to enjoy our small outdoor children’s play area. We are a Two for One, serving food Monday to Saturday 11am until 9pm, Sunday 11am until 8pm, offering a great selection of food from our menu, boosted with a further 25 daily specials, catering for everyone. Along side the food we also have a great variety of cask ales on offer all supplied from our own breweries located throughout the UK. We have a great, fun general knowledge quiz on every Wednesday evening starting at 9.00pm, offering various prizes. POINTS OF INTEREST • Durham Cathedral occupies a strategic position on a promontory high above the river Wear, the seat of the Bishop of Durham is the 4th most significant in the Church of England hierarchy and he stands at the right hand of the monarch at Coronations • Durham Castle as present began in 1072 as a simple defensive mound commissioned by William the Conqueror. When Durham University was founded, Bishop Van Mildert gave the castle as a gift to the University • Durham University founded in 1832, it is one of the first Universities to open in England for more than 600 years and is England’s 3rd oldest educational institute after Oxford and Cambridge.
